Medieval Madness at Durham Castle! This week we enjoyed a trip to Durham Castle. During the summer term we have been learning all about castles; naming the parts of a castle, looking at the people who worked in Medieval Castles and studying William the Conqueror. We even tried to create our own Drawbridges! Future artists at work! We went on a walk in the school grounds to collect a variety of natural materials which we could use to create our own art work. We made our own sandwiches for a picnic as part of our Golden Treat this half term. As part off their golden time treat Year 2 took part on an obstacle course. As part of our topic Geordie Life we visited Beamish Museum. We explored the pit village and the shops in the town. We also had a ride on a tram and an old bus. Computing with the net books and iPads. Some of us worked on Kodable programming sequences on the net books.
